Electra Trewavas - Real Estate in Her Blood

30 May 2026

Electra Trewavas grew up in Motueka, where her mum owned a local coffee shop that Electra managed. It just so happened to be located directly across the road from a real estate office. Every day, she would watch agents coming and going, heading out to viewings, meeting people and working with property. It looked exciting. No sitting behind a desk all day, but instead being out in the community, connecting with people and homes.

Real estate was also part of her family history. Her grandfather worked in the industry back when there was only one company in town. “In many ways, you could say it was in my blood.”

Being a local with a well-known family name, Electra decided to give it a go. With incredible support from family and friends, and early referrals that helped her hit the ground running, she quickly realised she had found exactly where she was meant to be. She has not looked back since.

At Arizto, it is the app that Electra loves most. “Being able to get a property live from wherever I am is incredible. It gives me the freedom and flexibility to work on the go, which saves so much time and makes a huge difference when it comes to balancing life and real estate, especially when you are essentially on call around the clock.”

Arizto’s model gives her the best of both worlds: the flexibility and efficiency of modern technology, backed by the strength of a nationwide team. “I am not working alone. I have the support of a wider network of agents across the country, which expands buyer reach and collaboration opportunities.” That combination of technology, teamwork and personalised service allows her to deliver strong results while keeping the experience smooth and stress-free.

If she could give advice to her younger self, Electra would say not to doubt her value. “In the beginning, it is easy to compare yourself to experienced agents and feel like you need to prove yourself. But relationships, work ethic and consistency matter more than years in the game. Back yourself early.”

Electra believes today’s buyers and sellers want an easy, stress-free process with systems that save them time. “And a fair commission rate. The cost of living is very high, so why not save on commission but still have the full service?”

Her advice to sellers is strategic: “Price strategically to get the market excited and have your property presented beautifully. Those two combined will bring you a premium result.” It is the kind of confident, focused guidance that reflects an agent who knows exactly what works.

Electra is based in the Tasman region, a place she describes as genuinely rare. “Within a short drive, you can be walking golden beaches, hiking native bush and brunching at many delicious cafes.” Home to Abel Tasman National Park and close to Kaiteriteri Beach, the region naturally attracts people wanting that coastal-meets-rural balance. Yet towns like Motueka still offer schools, shops, cafes and a strong community. “It is lifestyle without isolation. I am very lucky to have ended up in this wee corner of the world.”

The market is showing positive signs, with more buyers back looking, multiple offers returning and a more optimistic feel across the board.

One story that always stands out for Electra is helping a widowed elderly lady who urgently needed to downsize due to health reasons. It was an emotional time. The property was one she had built with her late partner and lived in for years with many happy memories. Electra was able to get the property sold quickly and for a price well above expectations. “I will never forget the moment she started crying, not because she was sad, but because she felt such relief. The stress had lifted off her shoulders.” What makes it even more special is that their relationship did not end at settlement. They have stayed in touch and still catch up regularly. “That is when you realise this job is not just about property. It is about people.”

Outside of real estate, Electra is a proud mum to her five-year-old daughter, Banksia. She loves spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, chasing sunsets, enjoying a margarita and a flat white, trying new cafes and restaurants, front left at music festivals, and travelling whenever she gets the chance. “For me, it is all about balance. Working hard, showing up for my clients, but also making memories and living life fully.”

If she could list a property for any celebrity? “Taylor Swift. Imagine the storytelling in the marketing campaign. The brochure would have chapters, the open homes would sell out and the sale would most probably break the internet.”

Electra Trewavas brings local roots, genuine warmth and a natural instinct for real estate to everything she does. In the Tasman region, she is not just selling homes. She is continuing a family legacy, one relationship at a time.
