Experience, Patience and Proven Results in North Otago.

For Team Meek, real estate was not a sudden career pivot, it was a natural progression born
from experience.

After building several homes and renovating others themselves, Cliff and Glenda Meek
developed a deep understanding of property from the inside out. Through their own buying and
selling experiences, some positive, some less so, Cliff began to see the process differently. He
realised that not only could he do the job, he could do it better.

Cliff entered the industry in 2013 with Ray White before moving to Southern Wide Real Estate,
which later became part of Property Brokers. In 2017, Glenda completed her real estate papers
and joined the business, forming what is now known as Team Meek. Together, they built a
reputation grounded in consistency, honest and strong relationships.

In December 2024, after more than a decade in traditional agency structures, they made the
decision to join Arizto, a move driven by a desire for a more streamlined model and a fairer fee
structure for vendors.

For Team Meek, Arizto’s appeal lay in its efficiency and technology. The electronic systems
simplify processes that were once paper-heavy, time-consuming, allowing transactions to move
forward smoothly. Access to professional photography, competitive fees and reliable backend
support means they can focus their attention where it belongs, on their clients.

If there is one piece of advice they would give their younger selves at the beginning of their
careers, it is simple - to listen. Every client has a different story, a different set of circumstances
and a different motivation. The more information you take in, the better prepared you are to
serve them effectively. Over time, they have learned that rushing rarely leads to the best
outcomes. Patience builds trust, and trust builds successful results.

In today’s market, buyers and sellers value good service, strong communication and quality
marketing, particularly professional photography that presents a property at its absolute best.
Presentation remains critical, and they encourage vendors to declutter and ensure homes are
well prepared before going to market. Choosing the right agent for such a significant financial
transaction is equally important. Doing the homework upfront often determines the experience
that follows.

One of the myths they would most like to challenge is the outdated perception that real estate
salespeople are untrustworthy. After years in the industry, they know that professionalism,
integrity and hard work define the majority of agents. They see their role not as salespeople in
the stereotypical sense, but as trusted advisors navigating clients through one of the largest
financial decisions of their lives.

Based in North Otago, Team Meek operates in a region that continues to perform strongly. With
a substantial rural community and growing tourism appeal, the area attracts both long-term
residents and newcomers. Its small-town character fosters strong networks and much of their
business is driven by referrals and repeat clients, a testament to the relationships they have
built over time. The lifestyle offering is compelling. Lakes and ski fields are within close proximity
and a major city is just over an hour away.

The region is also home to New Zealand’s best-kept Victorian township, a drawcard for
international filmmakers and visitors alike. Increasingly, people from other parts of the country
are recognising the opportunity and relocating. In the past year, they have observed a
noticeable rise in first-home buyers entering the market, along with long-term immigrant
residents choosing to purchase homes after years of living and working locally. These shifts
reflect both confidence and community growth.

While many sales stand out for different reasons, one in particular involved a vendor who had
committed to a new build and needed to sell their existing home under significant pressure.
Interest had been slow and uncertainty was growing. Then, unexpectedly a cash offer arrived
and everything aligned. The relief and outcome made the journey worthwhile. For Team Meek,
every sale carries weight. Each home represents a chapter in someone’s life and being
entrusted with that responsibility is something they do not take lightly.

Outside of real estate, Cliff and Glenda enjoy a grounded lifestyle. They grow much of their own
food, take pride in their garden and value time spent travelling and with family, especially now as
grandparents. Cliff enjoys golf, while Glenda loves discovering walking tracks wherever they
may be. Staying active and connected to nature is important to them. If given the opportunity to
list a property for a celebrity, they would choose Kirsty from Love It or List It, drawn to her
creativity and curious to see how she would design and present her own home.

Team Meek brings experience, patience and local knowledge to North Otago real estate. Their
longevity in the industry, combined with a practical understanding of property and strong
community ties, creates a steady and reliable presence in the market. They believe in listening
carefully, communicating clearly and allowing time for the right outcomes to unfold. In a region
built on connection and reputation, that approach continues to serve them and their clients -
well.
