Arizto offers more for less

Read moreMark Voss got into real estate for one simple reason: he wanted to help people. Before entering the industry, Mark kept reading articles about salespeople and their improper conduct, and knew he could do a better job. He started with Ray White as part of their training programme, determined to provide a level of service that people could actually trust.
“I wanted to help people and provide a good service to people who needed it.”
Mark’s move to Arizto gave him the tools to match that ambition. “I like the streamlined process that the system provides for myself as an agent and for the vendors themselves. I feel like I am actually providing a service to the vendor and not a number for a company.” It is a distinction that matters deeply to him. At Arizto, the focus is on the client, not the corporate machine.
Transparency is central to how Mark works. Arizto’s system gives vendors the ability to see what is happening with their property in real time, which ties directly into his approach of open, consistent communication. It is what he is known for, and it is what sets him apart.
“Buyers and sellers value honesty, communication and service in all markets, as well as someone that they feel comfortable working with.”
Mark is thoughtful about the perception of the industry. While he would not call it a myth, he has heard people say that agents do not work hard. From his five years in the role, he has seen the opposite. “I have heard and seen agents do things that are not required of them, and I am constantly going the extra mile for my vendors.”
His advice to sellers is practical: make sure any defects are fixed or at least disclosed, and keep the property tidy and decluttered. It is straightforward guidance, but it is the kind of attention to detail that prevents problems down the line.
One of the most important lessons Mark has taken from his work is the difference between selling a house and selling a home. “Patience and understanding goes a long way. A lot of what we do is focused on selling homes, not houses.” It is a subtle but powerful distinction. A house is a structure. A home is a story, a life and a set of memories. Mark understands that, and it shapes every conversation he has.
Mark is based in Whanganui, a city he describes as a hidden gem. With a diverse range of houses and locations, the area has attracted a growing number of out-of-town buyers looking to settle. Subdivisions and developments are happening at pace, and plenty of people from larger cities are discovering the appeal of the region.
One of Mark’s most meaningful client experiences involved a woman who contacted him due to deeply personal circumstances tied to why she had originally purchased her property. She had been disheartened by a different agent and simply wanted to be listened to. Mark listed and sold the property, which was what she wanted, but it was the time, communication and understanding he provided that truly made the difference.
Outside of real estate, Mark enjoys reading, though he admits he does not get as much time for it as he would like. “I have a multitude of books that I need to start,” he says with a laugh.
If he could list a property for any celebrity, the answer comes quickly: Graceland. “Just for the fact that it was and still is such an iconic property.”
Mark Voss is not about flash or fanfare. He is about showing up, communicating clearly and making people feel heard. In a market where trust is everything, that approach makes all the difference.
